If you’re walking around in the miserable Danish winter weather and longing for the awesome car culture, we highly recommend going to the Essen Motor Show in December! They have an insanely high standard in their selection of exhibited cars, and we hope the pictures confirm this for us 🙂
56! That’s the number of times the lovely Germans have organized this show, and you can definitely feel it when you walk through the door – they know exactly how to do it right!
200,000 people have passed through the doors over the 10 days the show lasted, and that’s an incredibly impressive number. We weren’t in doubt that the number was high; we were in Essen on the last two days, so we thought, ‘Well, people must have visited by now.’ But nooo, both days around lunchtime, it was almost impossible to see the cars for the sheer number of people. So, with camera gear on our backs, we certainly had our work cut out for us. We hope we’ve captured enough cars and atmosphere to show the event in its best light.
Of course, it wasn’t all modified cars; there were also new cars to see at the show from dealers – including LEGO and eBay, who were there for the first time. The show also featured plenty of stands where you could get some extra love for your car.
All 7 halls were in use, so you definitely get some steps in. There was a great selection of food and drink stalls, and RedBull was also present, so you could always get a little caffeine boost for your brain – and for the more mature crowd, you could easily find a good cup of coffee.
